Can anyone tell me the difference between a clown, candy stripe and a tiger
pleco? I was sold a candy stripe, but can not tell the difference between
this and what I read about Tigers and Clowns. Are they the same species?
Will mine stay under 5" ???

Thanks

well they are all common names anyway so really they mean nothing at all... anyone will sell any species that looks similar as any of those names.

However the tiger is often given to Panaque sp. L002/074
Clown is often associated with Panaque maccus and the look-a-likes (Panaque sp cf. maccus)
Candy stripe was originally used for Peckoltia vittata, or L015.

As you can see to a lot of people they'd look the same, or at least very similar. Hope this helps.

Oh, and all will stay well under 5".
