clown vs clown

I am contemplating about switching my 6 inch clown knife fish for 2 1.5 inch clown loaches. I am renovating my aquaria into a planted tank and I kind of wanted to get some loaches but yet I still like my Clown knife fish. One thing is that my Clown knife fish excrets a lot of waste, thus making hydra appear. But that can be dealt with.

So what would you choose? Clown Knife or Clown Loach

BTW I can accommodate all their sizes, I have a spare pond for that purpose.

If you decide on Clown Loaches you need more than 2. A group of 5 or more is much more ideal as they are a schooling fish.

I go with clown loaches over clown knives anyday, BUT minimum IME is 5 clown loaches.

I personally prefer the Loaches over the Knife as well. As said 5 is a good place to start with loaches. I said start becasue once you start buying loaches, you won't be able to stop. They're great fish and before you know it your original 5 will turn into 10-15.

I like knifes but not the clown nife. black and brown are more my style, not as big.

so deffinately take the loaches you will get far more immediate gratification.

Buying 3 now with the intention of adding 3 more later is fine. That is actully what I did. I originally bought 3 and then went back to buy 3-4 more. There were 7 at the LFS and I ened up buying them all, I felt bad leaving the others behind.
