Came home from work after a rough day, only to find my Oscar(8 inches)up in a corner, meanwhile my 8 inch Clownknife shoots up taking shots at himis this normal???While i love both of these fish, the Oscar has truly become the families pet,so i have no problem getting rid of the knife. But i thought that O's were tougher than knives??:screwy:

Weird. I was under the impression that Clowns are usually more timid. I know they will eat anything that fits in their mouth. But aggression wise, i always heard they were peaceful.

I would have thought it would go the other way. Oscar beats up on Clown. I guess you have an unusually territorial Clown.

Oscars can be aggressive. But they are only aggressive until another fish fights back. Then they're total wussies. (most of the time)

My royal knife is DEFINITELY aggressive... he has no problem taking pot-shots at any fish that gets in his way. I would not call them "peaceful". NOt the most aggressive fish, but not perfectly peaceful either

ive got a clown together with 2 silvers, the aros dont mess with him. When the clown roams the tank the aros get out of the way..The aros beat up on each other but dont mess with the clown....:D :D

all knifefish emit electric currents not as strong as electric cats but still stunning to opponents if they do become aggressive it may need a hid spot or is defending his hide spots. I've seen ghost get nasty but msot knifes/knives are passive aggressive compared to cichlids considering that oscars & arrowanas(jardini excluded) aren't to aggressive either it's no surprise the clown is picking on the oscar.
