so the treatment is going pretty well for my 3 clown loaches :D..there swimming around and eating live black worms ...they show no signs of ick..i still have them in 86*F & salted water..i plan on leaving them in there a while longer just to make sure ;)

but, how long should i leave them in the quarintine tank? should i turn down the temp? stop using salt? ...any advice would be really helpful.

thanks guys

You should continue treatment at least another week. This is because ich has a free floating stage where they live in the water and are invisible to the naked eye. You have to make sure those are also dead before discontinuing the treatment. After the treatment is done, I would keep them another couple of weeks at least in QT.

Glad to hear your treatment is going well. I agree that another week of treatment won't hurt.

cool, thanks for the replies...another week it is!

and i'll be sure to keep them in the "Q" tank a little while longer.

Good idea! Be sure and let us know how they do.

UPDATE:

ok ,so its been about 23 or so days since i got these guys and teated them for ick...i lowered down the heat and stoped the salt about a week ago and they're doing great!...ick is completely gone they're fat and heathly....i threw them in their new home today (4'x2'x2') with my Jar and indo dat...no aggression in the tank and they're schooling! :D (i think thats the right term) ...i think they enjoy the larger area..

thanks again for all the help guys..

Uh, hope you have a bigger tank for those fish. And good job w/ the CLs! Last time ich struck my house, I lost 2/3 loaches.... :( AND an A. Modestus to boot.

Glad to hear it! Loaches form shoals. A shoal is a loosely associated group that moves together, a school is a group that moves as a unit.

cool , thanks for the correction on the MFK fish lingo, wurm...and yes they're still "shoaling" lol ...i'll probably attempt to get more later...i want to try and grow these guys out a little bit more ;)
