I had a question about the cheaper CO 2 systems like Nutrafin. Is the active ingredient basically yeast or is it yeast (with no basically). Do these systems work fairly well?

Someone gave me a Nutrafin system and I am just trying to set it up. Any advice would be helpful and appreciated. :D

i forgot this always use packaged yeast and never try to reuse the leftover stuff open a new pack and add lukewarm water not hot also play with the amounts of yeast might last longer but not to much though and the baking soda stablizes your kh good stuff!

Thanks for the information. Specifically, for a 10 gallon tank what do you do one of those packs of yeast and then how much baking soda.? I don't want to mess it up. I have some amazon swords which have been doing great, but I thought I would see if I could tell a difference. This may be a really basic question, but I do appreciate your response.

swords need iron more then co2 but for amounts yeast would be about 1/4 teaspoon even a little less and a good pinch of soda just enough to mix in with the so probababy half the yeast its best to play too because my tank is a little cooler then most so the mixture lasts longer but if you have a hot spot might only last two weeks .

and no its not a basic question not to many people will add their own mix to this setups they laz out and but the replacement packs screw that i say save a buck bro.
