How big of a CO2 bottle would I need or should I get?
I am finding bottles cheap on Craigslist for paint ball guns.
How long would a 9oz. bottle last me for my 29 gallon tank?

Will any CO2 bottle work or will some not work?

it all depends on the regulator you want. i believe any old co2 bottle will work as long as you have a standard regulator. Red Sea makes a regulator that will work for paintball co2 bottles, but most people avoid going this route.

the most efficient method is to run a standard 5 or 10lb bottle. once theyre empty, you can get these refilled at most local welding shops for cheap

Not to mention a 10lb bottle will last you FOREVER.
That all depends. A 10lb bottle doesn't last nearly long enough for me, and I end up getting 20lb bottles, which last less than a year.

I will just wait and get a 10lb bottle then.

I was looking on Craigslist and was talking with a guy who has three 9oz. bottles, I might be able to get them for 5 bucks a piece, but it sounds like it would be a waste of time.

9oz is paintball, 10 lb is standard gas cylinder thread. The two are not threaded the same, and won't work the same. When your 75 is up and running, a 10lb bottle should last you quite a while.
