So I am planning on doing some DIY CO2 (the 2L bottle with sugar and yeast) but I don't know if I should use a DIY diffusion bell or an air stone. If I did do the Diffusion bell would it be fish friendly?

What is your stock and tank size? The diffusion bell should work well with a DIY setup as long the tank is not too large (IME DIY is better on smaller setups).

O

Its a 36 bow, i have a ctenopoma, 2 bolivian rams, 1 2/2.5 in pleco and a knight goby (don't ask about him I think I am giving him back). The plants are 1 melon sword, 1 anubias aflezii, 1 anubias nana, some elodea, and I am planning on some 2 jungle vals, and one or 2 more plants.

i have diy on my 75 gallon low light tank and my bell didnt work, it would fill up to fast and waste a lot of co2. if you look on youtube there are a lot of DIY reactors, which is what i made. i just took one of those tiny little in tank filters, drilled a hole in the side of it for the tubing to go in, smashed up against the foam. then i wrapped another piece of foam around the output of the filter and turned it on. it works great, co2 bubbles go into the foam, which diffusees it, then when the foam is filled up, it gets sucked into the impeller and mixed with the water, any excess if there is any is blown out of the outlet foam in minute bubbles which diffuse before hitting the water surface. almost 100% diffusion.

Cool thanks, will look them up!

I just want to boost the growth a bit.
