My GH read 90mg/L when I got it tested and the pet store last week.
(That's what they wrote on the paper for me to take home. Not sure what it means from that recording?)
Would my PH of 7.1 go into a danger zone if I used the CO2 Fizz Factory ?

My filter creates surface movement but does not break the water unless I'm low on water, there is tiny little air bubbles floating around the tank though. Would this be such a problem that I would see no benefit at all from using this product?

Or is there a better version of a store bought cheapo setup that is priced around $20 ?

GH and CO2 do not have a direct correlation. You need the KH value rather than the GH value. Adding co2, of this type, won't harm your plants in any way. Your filter is causing surface agitation, which will render reaction co2 nearly useless. The sticky will help you out on co2.

ok thanks, I'll check out the sticky threads on CO2.
I got some fish a plants books from the library yesterday, not sure how good they are but hopefully will up my knowledge on plants :)

The danger zone I was meaning to say was about my fish, I heard CO2 can lower my PH. But how much of a PH drop would I get with a small CO2 kit? I'm not worried about dropping to a 6.8 but a 6.5 or lower might cause harm to my fish?

lets see if i can explain this right...i have read online that ph changes caused by injecting CO2 are not as harmful as people might think. if i remember correctly, i think this is because injecting co2 does not affect the TDS (total dissolved solids). when ph changes because of changes in TDS, thats when it can harm your fish.

somebody please correct me or add to any of this as im not 100% sure

Unless you had a ridiculous number of reactors for co2, reaction co2 will not harm your fish.

Cool thanks for the help :)
I Might be a reactor next week if I'm able to get a new filter.
