Hey guys. Im looking into getting a c02 canister and i want to supply co2 for 4 of my planted tanks. Is that possible just using 1 co2 canister? If so how and what do i need? Sorry im stilll a rookie and cant find any information from google how to do it. All advice will be deeply appreciated. Thx

yes its possible, lots of people do this for multiple tanks. youre gonna need a manifold which will divert the flow of co2 into several tanks. each outlet will need its own bubble counter and needle valve.

here's some examples of the manifolds sold http://greenleafaquariums.com/co2-manifolds-splitters.html

Thank you!! Wow this aint gonna be cheap. Need the co2 tank+regulator+manifold 4 way splitter. Looks like few hundred dollar investment to me. How many lb have co2 tank you recommand me to get for 4 tanks which is 2x 20 gal and 2x 10 gal. Do you know where i can get those tanks for cheap?

yeah pressurized co2 is never cheap! but at least you wont have to buy 4 co2 tanks and 4 complete regulator! that will easily costs several hundred dollars!

i think a 20lb co2 tank would be good, should last a while. check ebay, good prices there. i got my 5lb tank for $55 shipped.

good luck!

yeah it will work for any tank. the manifold attaches to your regulator, not to the co2 tank itself. the only difference is that a smaller tank will run out faster :D

The only thing is, getting a 20lb tank filled costs a few dollars more than a 5lb tank. If there is a way you can make it work, bigger is def better in this case.

i would not go less then 10lbs but thats just me. it depends how many BPS you will be putting into each tank. on my 29 gallon running about 4 ~ 5 BPS im about to get my first refill after about 6 months so they last a while.

a 20lb is large to store a 10 wouldnt be as bad but i would check demensions online i maybe wrong but i think the 20 and 10 are the same height just different diameter. most welding shops will have tanks that you can atleast go look at to get a good size referance

yeah this is true, a 20lb isnt too much taller than a 10lb, but it is wider. i would have gotten bigger as well but i didnt have much room in my cabinet...
