I'm putting together a DIY CO2 reactor for my tank. I know it will lower the pH of my water once it starts to work. Should I add a pH buffer to the water before I add the CO2? It's a 55gal and the pH hovers around 7.5 - 7.6. Will I see a significant change in the pH or should I not worry about it?

ph fluctuations due to the injection of co2 will not affect your fish since youre not changing the TDS of the water (total dissolved solids). so youll be ok, unless you add so much co2 that you decrease the o2 to dangerous levels and suffocate your fish

I doubt my mixture of sugary water with baker's yeast will raise the co2 levels so far it suffocates my fish. Thanks for the advice!
