Right now i have four clown loaches working inside the tank. I real want to add a small puffer but afread he would nip my discus... Any ideas on the outbreak?

the puffer will kill your discus....fin nipping bastards.

I found the nipping startes after the food supplie was limited.. I had a figure8 in a 30 cleaning up snails tell there wasnt alot left.

i dont think your co2 is the cause of the snail problem b/c i dont have any co2 in my tank but i did purchase new plants from a local store..and a month later i start seeing these snails. They're not bad tho.. but they can multiply fast! I've read somewhere that they can be beneficial in a planted tank, just keeping control of the # of snails is a pain!

MTS aren't bad for your tank unless you dnt lik the look. they work up the gravel and kep gases from building up in it.

Ya ive been reading up about them. I can see where they come from. I never notice they went into the gravel to hide n work. Will Clown loaches keep the under controll? Ya that is true about them being beneficial for the tank.... Im just taking out the other guys the more snail looking ones. lol

The clown loaches will keep the population down. You want a few of thes snalis though. Its too bad that you can't just have one loach-they prefer to have a few buddies around. If you have more than one planted tank I sugest you consider establishing melanoides in your planted tanks and once the population gets more than a little noticeable, send in the clowns!

I have four in my tank now... just over an inch big i love the little guys lol
