Hey there guys.

I am very interested in getting a coal grunter. I have a 3ft tank..
I would like to know a few things, hoping I can get a few answers.
I will only be keeping one...

Would washed play sand from Bunnings be good for substrate?
What Ph level do they need?
What is the best to feed them?

Where can I get one from in brisbane/ipswich, qld?
How much are they normally?

If not a Coal grutner, Would a spangled perch be good?
What ph levels should they be kept at?
Can I use sand as substrate? Or better if I use pepples/river rocks?

Thanks guys.
Any other advice will be much appreciated..

thanks for your advice.
Is there a reason as to why you prefer sand?

I am just worried that maybe its possible for the fish to choke on the sand if it tries to eat what ever food goes on the bottom..

Thanks mate.
