I got a Cobalt Blue African who's left side looks kinda skuffed up and the area around his eye is swollen making it bulge. I am assuming he is blind in that eye because he swims in clockwise circles. His right side looks fine. He eats well and is very active.

Any ideas? I tried to take a pic of him, but its really hard. He likes to have his good side face the front of the tank.

yeah I feel sorry for the guy. Its like it happened overnight. I think it may be a fight or him being bullied and he tried to squeeze between some rocks to get away.

The eye has not gotten worse for the past couple days and the skuffs look better. Should I keep him in the tank or isolate him?

If you can I would go ahead and isolate as sometimes other fish will pick on an injured one. It would not hut to add 1-2 tablespoons of salt and some melafix to it's tank to prevent infection

Will do.

I am new to the salt thing. What kind of salt is best? Also, is that 1-2 tablespoons/gallon?

Sorry, I got distracted, it should read 1-2 tablespoons salt per 5 gallons water, then only add more when you do water changes, not when you add water to replace evaporation. Keep an eye on the eye, if it gets worse switch to an antibiotic. Aquarium, canning, or ice cream salt is recommended but even table salt will work for treatment, not marine mix as it messes up your pH.
