They get almost 7ft and have been 200lbs. I wouldn't shop at that Lfs any more. That's like selling nurse sharks. It's not right

I hope they where ordered in by someone who has a big enough tank or owns a public aquarium. This LFS rarely gets any fish that gets bigger then 2' but will order people fish upon request. They still refuse to get anyone rtc or pacus no matter what though so I find it odd.

Maybe the shedd aquarium ordered them lol. What's an rtc and pacu?

Rtc is an English abbreviation for Red Tail catfish and a pacu is a omnivores fish that gets quite large. Anyways the pacu can get 30"-40" and the rtc can get 48"-60" long. Both are very common fish which a lot of under educated people buy for their "massive" 55 gallon tanks.

Ah I'm retarded when it comes to freshwater. But I know the Petco 55g huge tank crowd stuffs some crazy stuff in there. I bought a 125 off Craig's list that had a 24" knife fish, 2 16" oscars and 3 leporenus(sp) and a ton of cichlids. They couldn't move lol. And this guy thought his tank was giant. He listed it as huge in the add. Haha. I sold the freshies though

I'm the same way when it comes to saltwater. I'm very interested in it though lately. I've been browsing the salt section in MFK and at my LFS. I want to turn my 10 gallon tank into salt but have no idea where to start looking for info on it. I plan on a FOWLR if possible.

I saw tilapia for sale once. Why would any one want the hot dog of fish. They're not even pretty

I have 6 black tilapia and 8 red tilapia. Some of the hybrids and small species look cool but mainly people want them because they are so easy to breed. I'm breeding mine for feeder fish and I'll just filet them when they outgrow my tank. Then raise the fry and breed those. It's like a never ending cycle.
