Cobra tankmates

.....thats a good question....
Anyone keep cobra pikes with any other fish? I know it depends on the pike, but i was hoping to keep them in a 300gal display tank. The tank has some tigerfish, bichirs, and a gar. Also, how big do they get? About 12-14" perhaps?

We grew our original trio in a community tank. How many are you thinking of getting & what size? They should do well in a 300G, make sure there's some PVC, rocks/caves, and maybe some driftwood - Pikes like to feel secure in their 'spot'. Be ready for some aggression when they get about 8", typical of most lugubris types. Cobras are really active - all over the tank, females more out-going and curious. 12" - 14" will be the max. size, females won't be as large as the males. Good luck ~ they'll be nice Pikes in a display tank!

Nice Pikes! They should be about 5" and i'm getting two. I can keep them seperate if i have to but hoping they'll be ok in a 300. You think theyd be ok with some of the fish listed above? Of course the sizes between the fish will be similar so nobody gets eaten.

I have a pair in my 360 G tank with adult vieja's with no issues at all. The male is 14" but when members visit they say it's more than 14". The female is a foot long and again when members visit say that it's more than 12" :D. the female is way more active and outgoing than the male. She is a lot more aggressive than the male too.

My female is in a 270 (temporarily) with 2 atabajos, a xingu, and my unknown pike. She fights constantly with one of the atabajos. The fights are terrible and never stop. I thought it was the atabajo at first then I realized that she is a pretty mean fish but man does she have personality. She doesn't seem to bother any of my other fish (parachromis', severums, geo's, catfish etc)

Both were around 5" when 1st bought around two years ago.
