So I had a customer come in asking if he could put a 20" cobra snakehead with his large pacu. Going by his hand gestures the pacu seemed to be about a little over a foot long by about a foot and a half tall. What do you guys think would happen? I don't think it would be an issue but I just wanted some second opinions. Thanks for the help.

Do you know if your customer was referring to ch.marulius or ch.aurantimaculata (golden cobra)? Auranti is definately a sub-tropical species as I am sure is maruliua (i may be wrong on that one though) but pacu are surely tropical. I suppose if they are in a big enough tank kept at maybe 25c it may be OK. Both of these channa have potential to be aggressive, mostly to there own kind but possibly others also and pacu in my experience will only take so much nonsense from other fish before they give it back and pacu can inflict some nasty damage with their small but albeit powerful jaws. If the customer was going ahead with this combo I would say 200gal+tank with lots of plants as cover (plastic though as pacu can chomp their way through anything in a short space of time.)

Sorry maybe 300+ (6ft by 3ft and whatever high)

Well be said it was 350 gal but the dimensions say 450 gal. I'm not sure the species of snakehead but we have it at work so I could get a pic and post it for an id

Snakeheads are best kept in species only tanks!
(there are a few more placid ones that may work, but Marulius and Aurantimaculata are not those!)
