My breeding room is infested with las cucarachas alemanas (German Cockroaches). With the high humidity, dead fish, and fish food it's a paradise for them. I don't know if we should use poison because they often fall into the fish tanks as it is. Any advice?

If you spray also..The fumes will kill the fish, happened to me at an old house. First thing you can do is cut off the way they are getting in and then try to find hiding spots and eliminate them!

This is a misleading statement if you use a bug bomb that sends product into the air you will kill your livestock and not the roaches.

However there are materials professional PMP can apply that would be safe around your tanks.

With that said the best option would be a combination of a vacuum to remove as many as you can. A hair dryer to flush them out of hiding to then be sucked up with the vacuum.

Followed up with a treatment with gel bait and a IGR-insect growth regulator.

I would recommend finding a company that mentions these methods and you will be pest free.

Also discovering where your infestation source is a good ideal German roaches are not native to Mich and are not walking into your house from the exterior. They are a hitchhiking pest and you are bringing them in from somewhere.

Use bait/roach motels or the fun way would be to get 6 Tokay Geckos and let them have a feeding frenzy! :D

That sucks I would call in a exterminator ASAP, its just a matter of time before there in other rooms of your house.

First question: Why are there dead fish lying around? Or, where are there dead fish?

Second question: Why is there fish food available to these insects? You might need to pick up some better cleaning habbits... so start off by cleaning up your fish tank area... that'll help.

Sticky pads sound like a good idea... if you need to spray.. use the can spray stuff.... Cover your tanks with a blanket .. and when spraying, spray very low.. and concentrate in only certain areas furthest away from the tanks.. and of course how some type of ventalation... open a window would be best.. Although at best try and find something that is fish friendly.
