Coco fiber and breeding tetras

Would it be possible to breed buenos aires tetras on coco fiber like killis? I'm currently using it as a general substrate for a pair of sjoestedti, and notice it is VERY light, and things disappear into it very easily. Would this be a viable media to spawn tetras over?

Also if anyone knows, how fast do buenos aires grow?

Rosario la corte used to breed his tetras in cocofibre I believe. Not 100% sure though
