This is completely unrelated to the tortoise thread; I am totally against this idea, but my soon-to-be room-mate want to do a coffee table setup with some animal(s). I think the only rule here is: creepy crawlies and no critter that creep out people.

Any suggestions?

"Creepy crawlies" are probably a poor choice then. Crabs, hermit or otherwise? Maybe snails, but again a lot of people don't like them. Praying mantis maybe, most people are intrigued rather than repelled by them IME.

Eh, I means "No creepy crawlies." :p I would love to have a colony of bugs, but he hate bugs... haha.

He's looking at building the table himself.

lol thought this was a contradicting statement.
Maybe some kind of amphibians? Bolder amphibs too.

Haha... I think my Tiger Salamanders are in order... the only thing is that when they see humans, they think it's feeding time. :screwy:

Marine Toads!

Weird buggers. I think I will stay with those damned Bufo toads. :nilly:

There is only one species of Marine toad, Bufo marinus.....I think. They are also called Cane Toads and Giant Toads. They by no means live in the ocean. I don't really know how they got that name. A LPS near me just got a bunch in the size of a Softball!

Only the size of a softball? xD Try a basketball!

Anyway, what do you mean by coffee table setup? Im not sure if this is what youre thinking of, but there is a website that makes actual cages in the form of coffee tables. Its basically a coffee table with ventilation and a removable glass top for a top down view.
