Hey guys, has anyone kept a larger group of African Knives together?

I have a male duo currently with minimal aggression, but I'm wondering what it is like with 4-5 together. The tank will have a lot of decor in (70 gal)

I'm struggling with other ideas for an African tank, any info is welcome.

Regards, Hendre

4-5 should be fine together. Keep a place to hide and swim around.

Try some Congo tetras and leopard bush fish or African leaf fish. Some African long fin tetras.

Isn't it available?

There will be a lot of hiding space, I have found that my 2 get along as long as thet each have a space to hide when they feel like doing so.

I'm worried about tetras when I get a bichir and have heard that bushfish are rather agressive sometimes. I have only ever seen congos for sale out of that list :(

If u get larger tetras or barbs it'll be ok. For bushfish it's not the aggression but if it fits in their mouth then will try to eat it.

I've kept plenty of tetras with upper jaws. Lower jaws will become an eventual meal.

I may try bushfish then, larger tetras and barbs are prohibitively expensive for me atm
