Anyone experience any issues running new cold water right into the sump after a wc? I am trying to figure out if the bacteria will have temperate shock

I've never had an issue with it. My fish don't seem to appreciate it though. I bought a cheap faucet adapter for my python hose so I can control the water temp going in to the tank.

Thanks for the reply. I have. A lot of tanks so my hot water is tapped out very quickly. I just don't want to wipe out the bacteria in my 300 gallons k1 reactor

You will not wipe out the bacteria if that is your concern. I also get tapped out pretty quick and never had a problem.

De[ending on how long the water stays cold, BB simply go into hibernation if the water is super chilled. And revive when it warms up. Not an issue.

I usually run new water into the sump but I pour it into the last baffle box which is just the heater and pump back into the tank. So basically it just gets mixed back into the tank right away. My fish like a cold water refresher though, they get frisky afterwards.

Why not stagger your water changes? Or maybe get a big drum and fill/heat ahead of time?
mixture of time and space. Plus right now I am changing probably between 300-400 gallons and i am not fulling running. Don't have the time to stagger and only have a 50 gallon water heater
