Hello all. I'm going to be starting up a native stream tank with some darters and sculpins, and I would like to have plants as well because it just makes a setup look better and more natural. However, my concern is that most plants won't tolerate the cool temperatures (basically just an unheated, room temp tank) required for these fish. I know some pond plants might work, but what are my options? Do most plants need tropical temperatures? If somebody can rattle off a list of good plants for the setup, please do so. Thank you!

Most plants will do fine at room temperatures. If you're really concerned, Dwarf Sag, Hornwort, and Anacharis will survive for sure.

I was always under the impression that cold water wouldnt kill plants? Since over here i've seen people keep planted tanks between 18'C - 25'C on average, and say anything over 26 / 27'C and they may start to suffer...

Bu maybe thats coz i live in a tropical climate where winters rarely dip below 15'C
