Coldwater predators?

Are their any coldwater predator fish besides bass and catfish that aren't illegal to keep in california .
Gars and esoxs are illegal here

What size is the tank or pond, Aquaculture? This is largely an important variable if you want answers narrowed down.

As lupin said with the gars and If I'm not mistaken the norm for getting caught with illegal fish is they seize the fish obviously and anything related to keeping fish.

I have a 300 gallon pond That is just under six feet in diameter and 2 feet deep.

Any trout except atlantic salmon, European pikeperch, chinese perch, and crappie.

Try to find a chain pickerel. They are beautiful fish and aggressive. I've never kept one myself but from my fishing experience they do much better in the small pond setting then their cousins, the musky and the n. pike.

How far south is Redding?

If it's far enough south, a cool predator would be a Chinese Perch as said above.
