Got this from the lake where my parents live, the same lake that my bass came from. It's going in his tank when the wood cures. Got a couple pieces that look like pieces from a sunken wooden boat. Will post more pics when the aquascaping is complete.

Is that one an old hardwood dockboard? Looks like a weathered oak 2x6.

Could very well have been. It's a little soft, so I know it's old.

yeah and that one piece looks just like some clear vinyl tubing..... crazy how driftwood forms sometimes.

LOL, that's my python. Got to get the hot water in there somehow.

Seriously though, that plank looks like it could be a really neat piece in an aquarium. I collected a piece of driftwood once myself, put it in my tank and then took it out in a few weeks when it started to reek, rot, and fall apart. It turns out it wasn't driftwood at all, but just a floating piece of a tree root. Hope you have better luck.

Well, there is no smell coming from the hot water soak, so hopefully it will be good.

question: how do u "cure" driftwoods?

Boil it, or soak in hot water. All the superfluous organisms are killed, and you can add it to your tank.
