I am beginning to research a tropical fishing/collecting trip, and I am finding it difficult to gain information. I would love to be able to catch some larger fish, either peacock bass or Arapaima. But more importantly I would like to collect some cichlids. Ideally wild Festae or Beani. What "larger" fish are in the neighborhood of Beani? How difficult is to to collect and export fish back to the US?
Has anyone done anything like this before? Tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
