collecting native plants?

i would like to collect native plant species for my native fish tank. ive done a little research but i cant find anything on quarintining or treating these plants so i dont bring home any parasites or snails. can someone enlighten my
 
Plants, no matter what kind or where they came from, if its an aquatic species, needs to be thoroughly rinsed and scrubbed with tap water previous to planing into your tank. Its also a good idea to tear the roots, as that promotes root growth.

I love native tanks with native plants. Take pics of all steps and share in your progress :D
 
Propably bleach solution , i tried hornwort once it didnt work, ve read somewhere plants from deeper parts work better. Anyway good luck and post pics

I have done bleach dip on some plants I got from an on-line seller. When they arrived the plants had BBA. I used a 1 cup bleach to 4 cups water ratio. This worked great. How ever some plants are more sensitive to bleach than others. If you do a bleach solution bath then make sure you do not treat the roots. On any new plants that appear to be healthy I rinse in tap water that contains chlorine just to be safe.
