beautiful day today. went out to check the minnow trap and with nothing but a tadpole (released him back) i decided to walki the dam of my buddies lake/swamp found a 4ft by 1 1/2 dia. stick completely chewed on by a beaver and thought wouldnt that look pretty darn native in my tank. anyhow i saw some 4-5 inch bass and sunfish floating dead im assuming its from the heavy rains/flooding/the dam giving away. what really broke my heart is i saw a warmouth or rockbass floating i thought it would have been a good addition to my tank anyhow i took a pick of the place and im looking forward to some good collection coming up. enjoy

:iagree:. I think something is wrong with the water for that many fish and types of fish to be dead. Warmouth tolerate really low oxygen and poor conditions that other fish will die from exposure to. So if a Warmouth is dead, not good.

i was thinking more along the lines of the wood not being driftwood.

last year started i started pretty late but mainly ended up with a few bullheads, a mud minnow, some sunfish and a crawdad with one claw lol. the sunfish were about 1 1/2 inchs, they jumped out of my tank by the next morning. every one of them i pick up off the floor. mudminnow lived about 2 months and died the crawdad and the catfish are alive and well. ive found homes for all my juvi bass and im looking foward to re stocking with either a grass pickerel or a wide variety of sunfish. i love going there even to just check one minnow trap because of all the interesting rocks and pieces of wood i snatch up for future decor. i found a flat rock about a foot long by 6 inchs that is full of petrified seashells and impressions
