Hey.

This is my first post here so..;)

I have ordered 4 Hystrix from colombia, and as ive read it is often confused with sp. peru, yepezi or orbignyi..(since the real one only lives in brazil) Which one is the most common confuse? They also had Reticulatis on the list, so i really dont hope it will be confused with that, but since they had it on the list, i gues they know how that one looks..
If it is confused with one of the mentioned above i wont cry, they are all nice rays! But im curious anyway, which one is it most often confused with.

I also ordered 1 signata, is this one also confused with something? (since that one also only lives in brazil)..

Is there somewhat a chance that these rays has comed to colombia "the back way" for export? Since its stop in brazil.

As far as i know, Hystrix are only found in Brazil. Look at the Stickys, there is a thread somewhere there about common miss-ID rays (unles im confusing it with another Species of Sticky's Lol)

Ive red alot of threads, but its confusing, no real conclusion. As far as ive read there is no colombia histrix as you say, and then im intrested in wich one of the species above its most often confused with (sp. peru, yepezi or orbignyi).

And also, sonatus, how can colombia export these, are they also confused with something else?

IMO i think sonatus is somewhat a mix of castexi and something else!

You are right on the columbia hystrix. They are usually the yepesi or humerosa type. If they had signata on the list then I would suspect some type of castexi

signata will come in as a castexi, they are just trying to get more money by puting a banned ray on an import list.....
