Look like butis butis. Let it settle and pattern up. Cool oddball fish.

I agree with kno, it looks at least somewhat similar to a butis butis other wise known as a crazy fish, quite an uncommon fish I would say.

Your right! I knew I’d seen one before. It fooled me because it was right side up. I think I’ll get it; I’ve never kept one of these before. I have a community of same sized, like minded fish it can live with.
Thanks

Mind telling us where you found it and how much it’s running? I’d also like one of these fish but have no idea of what the price range they’re at these days.

One of my old oddball favorites. Just keep an eye out. They got surprisingly big mouths for a small fish. Come from brackish water normally. Watch for skin infections. Long term isn’t really truly known.

$9.99 in San Francisco. They have them regularly and I usually ignore them. I was looking for something interesting to add to a community with some nandus, Congo tetras and a few other random predators. Anyone know if they do poorly long term in fresh water?

Only $10.... if I ever am in the neighbor hood I’ll have to pick up a couple if I haven’t already done so.

So the more I look at this thing, the less it looks like the Butis Butis sold around here. It lays at the bottom right side up, and is not brown pattern they normally have. It’s still pale white with a mild opalescence around the gills. maybe another species ? From what I can tell there are no Butis from Columbia...
