I am very interested and definitely going to have to get one of these little buggers no doubt and I would also like to know more about them. I have heard they can turn saltwater or something like that? But please explain and any related sized species of catfish please share because I really want something other than corys and I want some catfish atleast 10"

I do not know anything on that type of shark. but you would need a 50-75 gallon aquarium for something that can get 10 inches. My 1 Asian upside down catfish is in a 65 gallon aquarium and that is pushing it. Asians get around 10-12 inches. From your last thread I thought all your aquariums were not big enouf to house a "Big Boy"

Ok thank you and I will be getting a 125 gallon aquarium soon so housing isn't an issue and I just want any type of catfish that is around 10" no bigger than 14" though but I'm open to any other breeds these will not go with any other small fish like my tetras

You should put the fish you have now in there. Your tanks are overstocked and you should put your fish in there. you can consider new fish when all your fish have appropriate sized aquariums.

If you want a decent sized cat look for a yellow bullhead . They are native so you may need to check your state laws but they are awesome

My tanks are fairly overstocked I sadly agree but that is only my 29 gallon because I have 6 buenos aires 2 bleeding hearts 10 rosy reds 3 really tiny plecos 1 Chinese algae eater and 1 injured Oscar who will be in this tank for around 3 more weeks when he starts to healthily grow back his tail which was bitten by my pastel red eared slider turtle and I need to make my jds in my 55 grow a little quicker because the o is outgrowing them. You guys are very knowledgable in this area of expertise(I originally didn't believe so. Sorry) of cichlids and large fish so do you think my now 3 inch Oscar I think is 3 inches probably less will outgrow my 1.5-2.0" jds they are in a 55 gallon 76 degree tank while the Oscar is in a 29 gallon 79 degree tank and they all get fed two times a day the Oscar was moved again to another tank my dad got me (the 29)
But who will grow quicker?

They are brackish water when they get larger. Mine reached 12 inches ten was mauled to death my other fish. Mine was dry active her fun catfish to have. Never had a problem eating. Large brackish tank would be great.

They like to school in groups of three or more. I have 3 in a 55 gallon brackish tank by themselves. Someday i'll have to get a bigger tank. Their are some other cool brackish fish that can become saltwater when they are adults. You can start a columbian shark in freshwater till they are about 3 or 4 inches, but then they start to develop skin diseases.
