Just wanted to share some interesting pics of my male EBJD as he's changed through his life so far... Its interesting how the prevailing color (the blue) seems to be fighting back as he matures.

This was the boy about a year ago.

This is him 5 months ago where I thought his colring was braking up and becoming more patchy.

And this is the fella today after what appears to be a period where his blue coverage seems to be increasing with age...

What a beaut! I've got a female EBJD around 4" at present. Full of colour and growing nicely. She's put on around 1" in 6 weeks.
She looks the same as yours did 5 months ago, but not as big.

I've got a 7-8" male JD that I'm hoping will breed with her (she's already spawned but he didn't seem interested). They're showing signs of courting now, so watch this space! I've even put in a piece of slate to egg her on...

Very nice! WE have a batch of EBJD's and BGJD's we are growing out now. Love the color of a mature Electric Blue. Great job!

Thanks guys...

Yeah hes grown quite fast... (slow compared to Oscars and Trimacs of course lol) Hes probably about 6 - 6.5" at the moment (in body length).

Beautiful EBJD! Its really interesting to see how dark he was compared to how light he is now.

A lot of that is just the mood of the fish and the lighting (aquarium or flash). :)

i highly doubt you have a female EBJD, they are rare to come by, dont know why, but since i have been a member on this forum, i have only heard of a few that has had a female EBJD.. and at 4 inches, its hard to know if it is a female or male.
