So my electric blue acara fry about a inch now changed from bright blue to white. I've only seen adults do this when breeding. Is it possible the fry is getting ready to breed?

I haven't kept these fish yet, but usually when they are in breeding mode there colors do change. A lot of cichlids get real dark, I'm not sure about acaras but my friends acaras bred at the same size as these. They had fry at a small size

I noticed with my pair that it's not only due to breeding. It can be stress related as well. I'm sure yours are getting on fine, but I'd definitely keep an eye on them even if it's just breeding behavior!

Will do! I watched them for a bit and this fry is really defensive over a certain section of log so I'm hoping there are not eggs in there

It looks like you are far past the fry stage.

Mine started breeding at around 1.5-2" so it looks like yours may be ready!

I'd have to agree I don't think you can call them fry anymore. Lol I think I start calling them juveniles at like 3/4 inch.
