Need advise...my brother has a 3 to 4 in FH that has suddenly changed colors. It went from red to orange a black...what can cause this? It is extremely healthy and it developing great but changed colors yesterday.

Dont worry sometimes it plea of old scale and produces new one. At that time u will have an excellent colour of FH.
Venting your fish is the only way to sex it unless you catch it laying eggs then you know it's a female. A spot in the top dorsal fin is usually a female indicator but it's not always true.
