color foods for very hungry rtc

my red tailed catfish is always hungery even after i feed him after the lights are off he swims around the tan franticley for more food but is there a color food that will bring out the red in his tail he is 9"
 
shrimp, clams, mussels, squid, octopus, oysters, massivores pellets, full grown convict's, koi, ect.
 
Really? Full grown convicts? I always thought those were too bony to feed?

I deserve that... :( haha

My baby rtc is only at 5-6" and brand new to me... im trying to be careful still...
but I know its been mentioned that they are bony for feeders...

what I should have said:
Do they really improve color?
 
COnvicts (the fish) are fine untill they become adults then their bones become to hard and are used as a weapon... they can actually hurt your fish (TSN RTC Etc) so usually when using Cons as feeders you use babies.

Colors are brought out faster with crustatious foods (shrimp, clams etc) but your RTC will grow into their colors with good water and a steady diet of high quality food
