IN MY TANK
Hi ,

I saw a sun catfish that i about 20cm which is completely grey? is the common as i have never seen one like this before? I also bought it:naughty:

I current have three sun catfish ,15cm and 20cm both are normal sun catfish with yellow and red on the tail.
Will 3 of them be ok , as i read the like to be in groups as they do better.

Thanks guys

3 will be just fine. i have 3 of them as well and mine r doing great. Mine eat shrimp pellets and one of them
even top feeds. he eats food sticks i feed my other fish.

If you really wanted to know the ID of your third fish, a picture of decent quality would be a good start.

Are you sure about the other two? Suncats have no red color anywhere, that is if we are talking Horabagrus brachysoma. Their tails have kind of an olive and black coloration: http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=159

Yes, they do best in groups. I'd say of at least 6-7. 2 has often been a bad number for me and many others - usually the smaller one will be constantly harassed by the bigger one. In a large group aggression/dominance is diluted.
