I've found the various color phases this species, (those I've been catching in eastern Panama lately), goes thru quite interesting,
it seems that the changes can randomly occur at any moment throughout the day....
At times only the face will blacken, or bands will fade in and out, seemingly whether stressed or not. Some reactions to sunlight, or shadows..
