your options aren't very good. I think colored gravel looks horrible, but plastic plants aren't so bad.

Didn't you just have a thread very similar to this deleted? :screwy:

Didn't vote, I have tanks with the following. Live plants, fake plants, sand, natural gravel, fake black gravel and I also use alot of flourite(I guess that would be gravel).

One thing I don't do is feed my fish dog or cat food, that's just :screwy:

I have tanks with bare bottoms, planted tanks with black sand and just plain black sand.

Black sand is really nice. I think i have a 5lb sack if your near 92626 email me Thedigitaldave@gmail.com id give it to you free.

u know this is in the saltwater section right?

Yes i know i put this thread in the Freshwater section before and people actually got upset about this topic

To be honest i have tanks with all types of substrates fake plants fake gravel to real plants real sand.

sand or gravel, real plants or fake. dont really matter as long as you can do it tastefully IMO. and of course, i wouldnt use my planted tank (see my avatar) to house large aggressive cichlids. plants would get torn to shreds. plastic plants are a must with these fish. even my plastic plants get torn up with cichlids.

so, i say it depends on the circumstances. and whatever you do, stay away from clown puke/fruity pebbles gravel. that stuff doesnt belong in aquariums

Since you are doing saltwater (id assume since your posting here), I think it will look kinda weird with gravel and fake plants. Why not go with sand and some fake corals mixed in with some live rock if your worried about fish eating them?
