Colour fading Jaguar

The dots ( never had a stripe on him ) on this Jaguar of mine have always been total black on white.

In the last couple of weeks I have noticed a considerable fading of the dots on the lover part of its body. At certain times those dots are golden/yellow...

Has he always had a white gravel substrate? Fish will fade or darken according to the color(dark or light) of the substarte(gravel) their above. Just thinkin'. He my darken over a darker gravel.

Gravel was always whitish.

All other Jags show no development of this sort.
