I have a Colombian Leopard Pleco in with some Frontosa in a 55gal. As of late it seems as if the Pleco darts after the Fronts and kinda rams them.. is that weird? I won't wake to dead Frontosa soon will I? Can a Pleco kill stuff? never seen agro behavior from one.

Not sure what you mean by colombian leopard, but it sounds like it is becoming something of either a hunter, or just very territorial. I would seperate it just to be safe.

how big are both the pleco and the fronts? sounds like a territorial thing, if it just swims after them and then stops. yes a pleco can kill other fish. plecos are very territorial fish, so this behaviour isnt uncommon. and more so in different species

Could also have developed a taste for slime coat, and scales. Plecos can wreak havok on a cichlid tank. When you shut the light off the plecos come out and the cichlids go to sleep. When cichlids sleep they pretty much all just huddle on the bottom. Usually totally oblivious to a pleco sucking away on them. If you start to notice hickies on your fish take it out! My L001 does the same thing to my malawi peacocks. It's about 10" and it doesn't hurt the cichlid when it rams them. Their usually pretty good about evading the blow. Just watch out for the odontodes. If they corner the fish they will try to smash it with their body, pectoral, and facial odontodes. If I reach my hand into my big pseudo's cave it will smash my hand against the side of the cave with all the force it can give. I'll tell you right now it hurts like hell. Especially because my pseudo is covered with spikes from head to tail.

That was the name the guy at the store gave me... it's a really cool fish....nice pattern and colors. I'll be posting photos of all my fish as soon I find the stupid cable that connects my camera to the pc.. then maybe someone will have a scientific name for it. I'm gonna just move him cauce he's starting to bother my polypterus as well. Off into the other tank!

i would move him then if you think theres a problem, there normally is, and as a rule polys are generally not good tankmates with plecos at all.

Moved my common pleco to my turtle tank then moved him in with my angelfish and parrots...seems to be fine.. there is a yoyo botia in there somewhere, but i never see it.. we'll wait and see if there are issues.

There shouldn't be any problems with the yoyo. Yoyos are pretty active, but they have never been a problem with the plecs I keep.

i have 2 yoyos in one of my pleco tanks, there is no problems, they are too playful. get another yoyo, they'll become more active
