Columbian Shark for a 55g?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
its a brackish fish, plus i used to have 2 of them, and wouldnt recomment them to anyway. After 3 days in my tank they both got ick and died, and gave it to my figure 8 puffer but thankfully he survived.

Lol that was the setup I was going to do and I bealive red devil and Columbian (both members) have them in full salt but if needed I'll do brakish but I plan on q them first but I want to give them a try how big was your tank?

i have a 55, the reason i think they got ick is being i have a really pissed off pictus catfish in there too, all he did was pick on the columbians.

Okay so the strategy I'll use will be grow him out till full size then add tank mates cuz I plan on getting tank mates that won't bother him spesh at his full size

id say you can have other fish, just maybe not add anything that swims at the bottom for a while. there pretty chill fish, they say semi-aggresive but ive never seen one show any aggresion at all. you should be fine with others just not bottom swimmers for a bit

Urghhh then what catfish for salt or brakish? So I guess 75is bare minimum, would It make a diff if mine was 55wide? Swolf I'll do that but first I have to see if I can keep one lol

They get around 13" usually, sometimes bigger...almost 20" so I have read. A 12" wide 55 will not allow them any room. I would say you need ATLEAST 18" wide for turning room.
