Not sure how much they would be over there, but they shouldnt be expensive. I imagine somewhere between 10-20 dollars, although they could be much cheaper than that.
 
Just under 5". They will eat algea/vegetation and microorganisms, so best to feed veggies and fibrous material as the main part of their diet, and also some protein based foods fed at times. There's a dietry thread for more info and food ideas.
