I searched knowing that this must've been covered somewhere but didn't find anything. Today I picked up 2 polypterus, an Ornate and a Bichir Bicher (I'm pretty sure), and I would like to place them in the same tank eventually (both are in quarantine right now) but there's a significant size difference.

The Bicher bicher is about 15 inches, and the ornate less than 12. Setting aside the normal considerations for temperament, would the size differential be too risky?

You should be fine. If that PBB can eat that whole ornate I would be more impressed than mad.

Mine are fine. My ornate was smaller than my senegal, but has since passed it in size. I have never seen any type of interaction between the 2. They ignore each other and everything else.
