Got my 55 gallon started...going for african river look/set up..with african black knife as my center piece fish...with rope fish, birch, and elephant nose fish to represent that african river Com...the tank has small river pebbles as bottom with lots ont mopani wood as shelters/retreats...will also have some asian and aussie fish like some gourami's and ranibows...was thinking of a peacock eel..the plastice plants in my tank (the soft silk cloth type) and all buried in the pebble rock...with larger pebbles/stacker rocks around their bases...will this keep the peacock from uprooting them?...i heard they do this...but then again..when i see pics of your spiny eels ...they are sometimes in tanks with real pants!!!..how?

also..for some reason..this people at my LFS said that their fire eel will not get to big for my 55!...no way!

also...anyone know of some freshwater african spiny eels....i heard of one from malawi lake..but it's so rare..
