Them being a endangered species? U can own them in the United States as long as you get a permit which costs alot.

I also think that's true too because if it wasn't I'm pretty sure A LOT of ppl in the US will already have some. Hopefully I will live long enough to see it come true. Lol. Otherwise I might have to move to Canada!

They are endangered and you can get a permit you must check http://www.fws.gov/permits/

however it is extremely unlikely they will issue you one

According to the link provided, the asian aro is listed as an endangered species and zoos/aquariums cannot get a permit to display an endangered species.

Man that just sucks with the regulations and Laws in the USA...All of u just have to pack up your things, sell everything and move up here and start all over in Canada Asian Aros, Snakeheads are a dime a dozen here. Only bad thing is the colder weather.
