I was on here almost 10 years ago and used to keep a discuss tank. Unfortunately due to life changes my tanks were dismantled and have been in storage for almost 6 years. Finally got the blessing from my wife to put one back up, so now I'm back.

Welcome back.

Hopefully it doesn't leak sitting empty for that long
Not unless its been under fairly extreme and sudden temp shifts, and exposed to full UV
.............more likely than not, its fine.

T taggart.josh welcome back to the hobby! What are you planning for stock this time around?

Blessings from the wife...lol..... Sooooooo glad I never ran into that issue. It was more like "Honey I'm moving this stuff to put up a tank. Should I toss or move it to the shed?" Sorry. I always find it funny when people post about permission from a significant other. Anywho.... Welcome back! I would recommend water testing your tanks before setting them up as leaks can occur from long term storage. If you look through the threads you will see it's been an issue for a few members as of late. Good luck with the new tank!

Agreed on the leak tests.

I would've asked for forgiveness rather than permission.

I never implied that you stated it "will leak".....just wanted give Josh a boost of confidence instead of anxiety.

My 180 was left upright, on its short side through 1 summer and 1 winter season, fully exposed to the sun when I bought it for $100........2.5 years later its running sans leakage.
