Hi
Members

I am having a fh . He is approx 8 inches. He is in a 20 gallon tank. Presently I am feeding him xo superluohan and cp cichlid pellets and goat heart.

I am posting the pics of my fh. I would like to know from you all whether he will be able to get hump .

I would like your suggestions on whether I should opt for chingmix or should I continue the same food and include humpy head. Looking at the fish if you can judge whether feeding chingmix will bring out hump in the fish.

Hope you will help me with my doubts

Thanks in advance.

Amit

Good looking FH. I don't know too much about them, and not to knock you, but I think the minimum for a single FH is around a 45 gallon breeder. You'll find all the answers you need here.

Bump.

Red ZZ X Malau and it's a male but at 8", your fish will not change too much base about growing out the kok at this point. And yes I will say that a 20 gallon is way too small for your FH at this point. It really needs an upgrade of the tank. A small tank can also be one way of stunting the growth of your fish especially the kok. Tank size can be crucial here if its too small here.
Just feed what you feel it's the best for your fish. At 8" it is almost done here, not too much will change.

Just wondering where in India you belong too... because the shop keepers use excellent strategies to make their sales. They say that a FH will be suitably housed in a 20 gallon.
And based on a true experience my friend had his Golden monkey just 8" in a 30 gallon tank. The head of the FH was not as big as it used to be like other GM FH out there. I advised him to upgrade to a bigger tank. He got a monster tank of 200 gallons just for his GM. Now the GM after a month in its new tank., the kok is like a golf ball and the colors are more vibrant !!!

Same old tank size issue you be the judge brother... :)

Please upgrade your tank. He has the potential to grow beautifully, just not the way you are keeping him presently.

I say it looks more like a red zz X trimac
