does anyone have any comments on putting marcoalgae in a main tank for asthetic reasons. I would also but it in my sump. I was thinking of some caulerpa, has anyone had any problems with putting marcoalgae in a main tank?

Reef tank or fish only Tank? Reef tank it may take over and smother corals and in a fish only tank, tangs, angels and other types of fish may eat some of it or all of it.

Depends in part too on the lighting. Some of the "better" macro algaes require intense lighting.
I've had good luck with blade caulerpa (Caulerpa prolifera) in the main tank (fish only) and in the sump.

i've had sawblade too as well as palm calurpa. other than you charges eating all of it or not trimming when necissary there's no problems, and if you can find ripocerous, you'll be my personal hero. lol

its just a fowlr, zebra moray, some tither fish, prolly no tangs, i dont want anything larger than 5 or 6 inches, i have a lawnmower blenny how about that? so if i trim it, when neccessary i will be able to control it?, or is it just a pain in the neck without tangs and whatnot?

That would be fine. The lawnmower blenny will also help control it but not deplete it. Just maybe some trimming from time to time and this will help you out a lot. It is also very good to have in a tank to help filter the water.

i read on the net that caulerpa can be toxic if ur trim it wrong, so i might just go with the spaghetti algae, any one have experience with this?
