Just wondering if it is common for bp's to be aggressive...? The LFS told me they are typically peaceful fish, but not mine. Had him for a few months and he's really mean!
Doesn't seem to bother my other smaller fish much cause he's slow, but I had a dead ram today and it seemed fine this morning when I left for the day.
When I reached in to get the dead fish out, my bp kept ramming my arm and attacking me. He's always been agressive acting, but never attacked me like this before with the constant ramming. He seems to be getting meaner. I know he can't "bite" me, but I am reluctant to stick my arm in there with the way he attacked me. The little **** was relentless!
And to think i traded my FH for him and a community tank:shakehead

Parrots are bred from red devil x synslillum, both are very aggro, I just got my first Syns from Jeff Rapps 3 weeks ago, I was worried about the getting picked on but at 4" they are ruling my tank. the only reason why parrots are considered not so aggressive is because they are very slow, and usually can't hurt because they cant close their mouth to bite.

your scared of a bp? lol get a fish with teeth.

when i had mine it attacked but no damages what so ever. maybe its because of the way their mouth is shaped. also never seen bp kill another fish. to me it sounds like a guppy killed a 18" arowana.

mine were evil!!!! they bullied my frontosas, went for me if i put my hand in the tank...little sods! id never get one again!
they have hybrid syndrome!

well, guppies are highly dangerous fish. Vicious creatures.

i agree. most dangerous fishes ive ever had. they are like piranhas LOL

I know I'd get laughed at for the post.
But really, he's like the devil spawn. And i agree, i should get a fish with some teeth.

My old FH was aggressive, but this fish just seems psychotic!:nilly:

Any suggestions on a cichlid that has a personality that might work with a pleco. I'd kind of like to keep my gold nugget even if i do away with the rest of the community fish. (my old FH beat up a 12in pleco when she was only 4in).

Decisions, Decisions...
