Hey all just wondering how big a common goldfish would get in a 50 gallon breeder? Willl be in with 4 filament barbs

6 inches maybe. Max growth results are highly varied in captivity. Some guys on here have 8-10 inch gold fish, but they also had them in very large tanks. I have a few in a 75g and they are 5 inches +/- after 6-7 months but haven't seen much as far as new growth lately. They'll be going in a 125g soon and I'm hoping they'll start growing again.

I have four Goldfish in a 75 gallon tank that is holding 50 gallons of water and my Goldfish are at least nine inches long. They have clearly out grown the tank and I'm working to find them a much bigger home.

What are the dimensions of a 50 breeder?

Size of tank has nothing to do with how large a fish grows. The reason most fish get "stunted" in small tanks, is because water quality degrades quickly, and its health suffers.

While I agree with this, is there supporting evidence on this?

There are more ways to get stunted than just bad water quality. Lack of foods, improper diet, overcrowding, bad tank mates and or poor oxygen.
