thats a good question
ok guys and girls im doing a science fair project for my school and i have to see which is more beneficial for the average fish tank any help will be appreciated

neither would be beneficial really. algea isnt a bad thing unless you dont like the look of it. a common pleco grows much too large for the "average" aquarium and adds to the bio-load 10fold as they are real pooping machines. a CAE once larger doesnt eat algea and usually turns very nasty killing "average" tankmates.

so if you would like the best benefit, dont add anything to keep the bio-load down and to save stress on the fish.

wow i dint know that thanks you just made my project easier:headbang2

Pleco should be fine. If space is an issue, BN's are pretty cheap and stay smaller. The algae eater is a waste of time. The few I have owned became really aggro. to all tankmates and ended up as feeders elsewhere.
